Currently very happy and fulfilled in my new role. Down the road, I would like to be a high school building principal.
How are you using what you learned in the Wisconsin Idea Principal Preparation Program (WIPP) on the job?
Nearly all of what I learned has been useful. Things ranging from a common instructional language, distributed leadership, school law, instructional rounds, Educator Effectiveness, importance of community and local context, to resource allocation.
What experiences shaped your decision to pursue a master’s degree in educational leadership?
Gaining more leadership opportunities in my school fed my passion to expand the scope of my impact.
What attracted you to the WIPP? Did you consider anywhere else?
Online focus and flexibility along with the focus on equity at such a prestigious institution.
What was your most rewarding experience at the WIPP?
The deep and purposeful text-based discussions.
What was your most challenging experience at the WIPP?
Balancing the work with professional and personal commitments.
Why would you recommend the WIPP to a prospective student?
You will not find another program that will prepare you for the reality of being a school administrator. The courses are very practical, and the learning directly applies to the job. It is based on best practices and is taught by high-level instructors. The flexibility of the online format makes it more realistic to complete.

My wife Lindsay and I have a daughter (Galey) and two dogs.
